Year 3 headed to the House of Mannanan to learn all about Vikings! Our Viking expert, Mrs Dalgleish, led us on a tour and gave us lots of information about their houses, longships and way of life. Thank you so much to Mrs Dalgleish and to the other grown-ups who came along.
3U have been working hard to measure results accurately when carrying out different investigations. The children were trying to find out which paper made the most effective paper aeroplane. They used metre sticks to carefully measure the distance flown by their aeroplanes.
Adrian from Young Engineers has been in school to deliver STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) sessions with some classes across the school. The Year 6 children have enjoyed learning basic fundamentals of engineering and applying them to model making.

An amazing effort for the 'dress as a word' theme for World Book Day this year! We almost got an A-Z of words from across the school...There were lots of excellent book character costumes too. Well done everybody!
As part of the Year 6 science unit, Earth and Beyond, Class 6C have been investigating moon craters. They looked into what causes craters and explored the impact that speed, weight, angle and distance has on them and then carried out their own investigations. They had great fun!
Year 4 have been busy this term learning about the Aztecs. 4GW have been doing some lovely printing using Aztec designs.
A big well done to our two teams who took part in the Maths Olympiad at QEII last week. They were presented with a range of Maths questions, including logic puzzles and numbers skills tasks. The teachers at QEII were very impressed with their effort and team work!
