Day 3 - Storm Agnes did not dampen the spirits yesterday! It was a dry morning whilst abseiling, crate stacking, doing the high ropes and the huge zip wire. The Year 6 children who aren’t at the Venture Centre have been staying warm and dry this week, and having been delving into their topic of World War 2. They’ve enjoyed learning about life as an Evacuee, and had a great time recreating scenes from the Blitz using chalk.
Simon Murray, author of the Icky Doo Dah books, visited Peel Clothworkers' this week. Year R, 1, 3 and 4 were lucky enough to have a workshop with him, where they learnt how to draw the main character from the stories. This was a fantastic addition to Year 3's Roald Dahl topic this half term.
The first group of Year 6 children are at the Venture Centre this week. Despite some spells of very heavy rain, they have been having a fantastic time! After achieving their Cycling Proficiency certificates, the Year 5 Classes embarked on a cycling trip from the Kipper Factory to Tynwald Hill, where we had a picnic and played ball sports on the green until the rain washed us away!
