Peel Clothworkers' School

'Enjoyable Learning for Life'

Our school values each child as a unique individual. In so doing, inclusion encompasses an holistic approach to each and every child, ensuring that each child’s needs are met, fulfilled and celebrated. We aim to provide a stimulating learning environment across the whole curriculum which maximises individual potential and ensures that pupils of all ability levels are well equipped to meet the challenges of education, work and life.

Aims:

We aim to:

•Create a happy, secure and stimulating environment in which all members of our school community can grow in self-esteem and develop their potential.

•Set and maintain the highest standards of behaviour.

•Develop in each child an awareness of self and of the needs of others.

•Feel fulfilment through achievement.

•Encourage initiative, resourcefulness, tolerance and perseverance.

Awareness:

Our school aims to be an inclusive school. The achievements, attitudes and well-being of all our children matter. We actively seek to remove the barriers to learning and participation that can hinder or exclude individual pupils, or groups of pupils. This policy helps to ensure that this school promotes the individuality of all our children, irrespective of ethnicity, attainment, age, disability, gender or background.

Teachers ensure children:

• Feel secure and know that their contributions are valued.

• Appreciate and value the differences they see in others.

• Take responsibility for their own actions.

• Are taught in groupings that allow them all to experience success.

• Have a common curriculum experience that allows for a range of different learning styles.

• Have challenging targets that enable them to succeed.

• Are encouraged to participate fully.

• Feel safe

Inclusion Provision:

We aim to give all our children the opportunity to succeed and reach the highest level of personal achievement by providing personalised learning.

Working With the Community:

Positive parental involvement is important for the success of all children. We aim to nurture the partnerships within the local community, with stake holders being an integral part of school life.
