Year 6 Residential Visit to Bewilderwood and Chester Zoo

Our Year 6 pupils recently enjoyed a fantastic two-day residential trip filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of memorable moments. With visits to Chester Zoo and Bewilderwood, the children had a wonderful time exploring, playing, and spending quality time together.

Day 1 – Chester Zoo Exploration

We began our trip with a visit to Chester Zoo, where the children were excited to see a wide variety of animals from across the world. From towering giraffes and enormous elephants to cheeky monkeys and colourful birds, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The pupils loved wandering through the different areas of the zoo, sharing their favourite animals with friends and soaking up the atmosphere. It was lovely to see them enjoying the day together, chatting, laughing, and making the most of the experience.

After a busy first day, we arrived at our accommodation for the evening, which was fantastic and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The children enjoyed spending time together, settling into their rooms and sharing the experience with their friends—although it’s fair to say that some took a little longer than others to settle down for the night!

Day 2 – Bewilderwood Adventure

On the second day, we headed to Bewilderwood, where the children’s sense of adventure really came to life. They had great fun climbing, exploring treehouses, racing along zip wires, and discovering all the hidden corners of the woodland.

The day was full of energy and excitement, with smiles all around as the children challenged themselves and enjoyed the freedom to play and explore. It was a joy to see them working together, encouraging each other, and making the most of every moment.

A Trip to Remember

The residential was a wonderful opportunity for the children to build friendships, gain confidence, and create special memories as they come to the end of their primary school journey. We were also very relieved that, after the windy conditions on the Wednesday, the boat journey was completely vomit-free—much to everyone’s delight!
