Day 5 - Our Final Day!
Wow - what a week it has been! It has gone so fast and we have had so much fun. The children have been absolutely incredible and it has been noticed by the staff at the VC - well done Year 6, we are all so proud of you. Our final day consisted of finishing off activities that groups had missed out on, then the big pack up of the rooms! Finished with a birthday cake for the birthday boy Daniel! We can't quite believe it is over!
All photos will be uploaded onto the website in an album over the next few weeks - we will update you when they are all uploaded!
Day 4!
The wet weather didn't dampen our spirts! We were high in the trees doing the rope course, which ended in the highest and fastest zipline on the island. Some of us went down to the lake to kayak and sail whilst the others tree climbed and tried rifle shooting. To end the day we played Operation Phenoix. All four groups had to go off and get as many points as possible on the various challenges - it was great fun! As it was our last night here, the teachers put on a little party for the children in the common room. We danced, sang, played games and ate sweets. It was the perfect end to the perfect week!
Day 3!
We are half way through the week and loving all the activities that we have been doing. Our 4 groups are rotating our activities and today, we have been on the lake again sailing and kayaking. At the Venture Centre we have been doing bushcraft, abseiling, archery and nightline. Two groups have been out exploring the river at Ballaglass, with an exhilarating afternoon of gorge walking.
Day 2!
Our second day has been just as amazing as the first. It started off a little wet, but by the afternoon, the sun shone again for us. We have been so busy doing a variety of exciting and adventurous activities and the children are having so much fun. Have a look at some pictures below to see us doing bush craft, abseiling, archery, crate stacking, sailing, kayaking and gorge walking. Tonight, we took a long walk around Maughold - it was a beautiful way to end the day. (Technical issues - photos to be uploaded asap!)
Day 1!
Day one completed and what a day it has been! We have all arrived safe and well and have settled into our new home for the week. Our four groups have been up to lots of activities in the glorious sunshine. To start off the day, we practised our aiming skills with a morning of archery. We have been improving our team building skills in night line, a blindfolded game of fun, as well as crate building.
Abseiling tested the children’s courage and resilience - we were so proud of them all! Clothes have been in and out of the tumble dryer today after getting soaked on the assault course and raft building. To end the day, we have been on the zip line in the dark and played an exciting game of Predator.
