What a fantastic afternoon in the sun today was at Kirk Michael for the Western District Football Tournament! We entered two teams, Celts and Vikings, who both did exceptionally well.
Both teams got through the group stages and into the semi-finals. Unfortunately, the Vikings didn't make it through to the final after losing a close game to one of Kirk Michael's team who went on to face our Celts, who had won their semi-final, in the final. The Celts had lots of chances in the final but were struggling to find the back of the net until the final few seconds of the game where a penalty was awarded for a handball inside the box. Never in doubt, our superstar striker of the day buried the penalty kick into the back of the net to win the game 1-0.
A HUGE well done and thank you to all children involved in both teams - they did the school proud and displayed all of our school values throughout the afternoon.
