'Enjoyable Learning for Life'

Local Met Office Weatherman, Gary Salisbury came into school last week to show the children some apparatus that they use to measure the weather and create a forecast.

The children measured the wind using an anemometer and temperature. We spoke about different types of clouds. The children were able to identify different clouds in the sky: culumus, stratus, cirrus and cumulonimbus. The children have been speaking, writing and acting out various meteorological situations - from floods to droughts and everything in between!

We have been recording measurements daily for our science learning. We have also been looking into the skies for inspiration for our art work based on famous historical artists.
